*This NFT is a depiction of my Olympic-winning touch. It brings me back to one of the most dynamic days of my career where I felt it all: fear I won’t be able to translate my thousands of hours of practice to competition, ferocity to fight my mind holding back my body, problem-solving to translate old and new information about an opponent, encouragement from the people I love most to be brave, sacrifice from my husband who had to compete the next day, and of course, joy. After competing and training for over 20 years, I don’t define myself by this moment but by the fullness of the highs, lows, and life along the way.*- Lee

**About the Athlete:** Lee Kiefer expresses gratitude for the sport that has navigated her to the best people and opportunities of her life. Early in her career, she became a 13-time cadet/junior world medalist. At 18-years-old, she participated in the London 2012 Olympics and started collegiate fencing at the University of Notre Dame. An illustrious period of her life, she left with 5 NCAA titles, another Olympic experience in Rio 2016, and a desire to pursue the sport after college. Perhaps a masochist, she matriculated at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and continued to chase a dream of an Olympic medal. With the support of her family, counseling services, teammates, and beautiful husband, she was able to qualify and win gold at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. She currently lives and refuses to retire in Lexington, KY, where she has her sights set on Paris 2024.  

**About the Artist:** Pablo Solares is an artist that specializes in oil paintings and large murals. He is especially known for his colorful, vibrant, and realistic portraits. A former professional Track & Field athlete, Pablo is the Mexican National Record Holder in 2 events (1500m and indoor mile). He currently resides in San Francisco.
